Investigation Clears Hon. Adamu Aliyu, Hassan Isa Maimadara of Alleged Land Scam

A thorough investigation into allegations of land fraud made against Hon. Adamu Aliyu and Hassan Isa Maimadara has revealed that the claims may be baseless. According to documents obtained from the Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB), the transaction in question appears to be legitimate, and the allegations may be unfounded.

A recent probe into allegations made by Abdulyekin Kabiru against Hon. Adamu Aliyu and Hassan Isa Maimadara has shed new light on the situation.  The Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB) owns the land, and they've decided to lease it out to an investor. This decision was made to put the land to good use and generate revenue.

The Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB) owns the land, and they've decided to lease it out to an investor. This decision was made to put the land to good use and generate revenue.

A lady was previously leasing the land and using it as an event center. However, her lease agreement expired in 2019. Despite this, she built structures on the land for school and other activities.

With the new administration in place, JMDB decided to find a competent investor to take over the land. Hon. Adamu Aliyu was approached to facilitate this process, and an investor was found.

The investor's application was processed and approved by the Board. The processing fee was N700,000, and the lease agreement is based on a Bill of Quantity worth N678,421,266.25.

The lease agreement has a payback period of 34 years. The investor is expected to pay an annual peppercorn on each flat for three years. This suggests a long-term commitment to the project.

Based on the JMDB documents and processes, it appears that Hon. Adamu Aliyu and Hassan Isa Maimadara did not conspire to defraud Abdulyekin Kabiru. The transaction seems legitimate, and the allegations may be unfounded. The project is currently on hold due to a legal action instituted by the lady who was occupying and doing business on the land.

Our investigator highlighted the following key points based on JMDB documents:

1. The land in issue is owned by JMDB, and the Board has made a formal decision to lease it out to an investor.
2. The land was previously a Mechanic Workshop and Lodge of JMDB, but later leased to a lady who used it as an event center, with the lease agreement expiring in 2019.
3. Despite the expiration, the lady built structures on the land for school and other activities.
4. With the new administration, JMDB decided to put the land to use by finding a competent investor, and Hon. Adamu became involved in this process.
5. Hon. Adamu was contacted to help the state get an investor, which he successfully facilitated.
6. The investor's application was processed and approved by the Board.
7. One of the conditions attached by JMDB was that the investor must submit a Tax Clearance Certificate.
8. The Processing Fee was N700,000, with additional fees for 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom flats.

The lease agreement, based on a Bill of Quantity worth N678,421,266.25, has a payback period of 34 years, and the investor is expected to pay an annual peppercorn on each flat for three years. The project is pending due to a legal action instituted by the lady who was occupying and doing business on the land.
