The Women in Politics Initiatives (WIPI) in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State has paid a solidarity visit to Alhaji Sani Ibrahim, Coordinator of the Mutfwang Gida-Gida Campaign in Bukuru, during which members expressed support for Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang’s bid for a second term in office.
The delegation, led by Hajiya Binta Hassan Ussaini and alongside ward coordinators of the "Women in Politics Initiatives WIPI across Jos South, visited Alh. Sani Ibrahim at his residence in Anguwan Doki, Bukuru. The visit provided an opportunity for the women to discuss grassroots engagement, political participation and cooperation with the Gida-Gida structure.
Speaking during the visit, Hajiya Binta Hassan Ussaini said the group’s decision to visit  Alh Sani Ibrahim followed its assessment of political mobilisation and community engagement in the area. She described the Gida-Gida Campaign in Bukuru as a movement whose grassroots organisation had attracted the group’s attention.
She said WIPI had come to express its support for the campaign’s activities and to identify areas of cooperation as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue.
The visit also brought attention to the community-level activities associated with Ibrahim’s coordination of the Gida-Gida structure, which has combined political engagement with initiatives addressing some of Bukuru’s educational and social needs.
One of the initiatives highlighted was the distribution of 15,000 exercise books to pupils and families in Bukuru. The exercise, held at Corona Private School in September 2026, was presented as an effort to support pupils and ease some of the educational costs faced by parents.
Other community concerns highlighted through the Gida-Gida platform include healthcare, access to water, education and road infrastructure. These include the ongoing primary healthcare facility project in Anguwan Doki, water-related interventions, rehabilitation of the Islamiya water tank, repairs to faulty boreholes and the commencement of Bukuru road rehabilitation.
These issues have featured in the campaign’s community engagement, giving local residents an opportunity to discuss development priorities alongside political participation.
Responding to the delegation,  Alh. Sani Ibrahim expressed appreciation for the visit and welcomed the women’s willingness to engage with the Gida-Gida structure. He assured them that the campaign was open to cooperation and sustained dialogue with groups interested in grassroots activities across Jos South.
He also emphasised the importance of collaboration, noting that meaningful engagement requires regular communication, respect for different perspectives and a shared understanding of community concerns.

The visit reflects the continuing interaction between Women in politics initiatives and Gida-Gida grassroots campaign structures in Plateau State as parties and their supporters prepare for the 2027 general elections.

For Alh. Sani Ibrahim, whose role places him at the centre of the Gida-Gida Campaign’s activities in Bukuru, the engagement offered another opportunity to connect with a women-led political group and discuss cooperation at the ward and community levels.

The meeting ended with both sides expressing readiness to maintain communication and explore opportunities for future collaboration.
