College Of Health Matriculates 905 Newly Admitted Students Warns Against Cultists Activity

The Plateau State, College of Health and Technology Zawan on Thursday has matriculated 905 newly admitted students to study into various courses  programmes for the 2023/2024 academic session.

Dr Jonathan Bulus the Acting Provost made this disclosure known to newsmen at the college during the Matriculation and oath taking ceremony held at the school premises, Jos South LGA of Plateau State.

He urged the  matriculation and oath taking students to shun cultists activity and embrace their learning or the college wouldn't hesitate expel anyone found wanting. 

The Ag. Provost,  urged the fresh students to   exhibit discipline, loyalty, honesty and good character at all times on while studying in the campus.

He says that, " the oath that you just took is a serious contract  your taking on your self due to the penalty for perjury, now that you have done  this ritual, I'm inviting on you to do the needful,  so as to settle down  to do the business of proper learning, you most define why you are here as students.

"You are here for redefining your  purpose, you are here to eliminate negative influences and distractions that may prevent you from reaching your goal. You are here become your Parents decide to sacrifice despite the hard economy".

Your Parents decide to allow you to be here, their comfort, their pleasure was abandoned and neglected just to ensure that  you have a better future so let educate our children, why because they want you to be better than them, he explained.

"For every good Parents, their prayers is that, my children live to be better than me, and so for a Parents to sacrifice their penny, for some of them here are retired already, that tell you it a huge sacrifice Parents are making for you to be here" Dr Bulus says.

He warned students that, In the period of your study here, you most maximize every opportunity to study, this is not an opportunity to run around the environment, you most really identify the friends that would add value to your life, because your being here not just to identify a friends and hang around, but you are here to identify friends that would really contribute positively to your life.

He admonished them that "Am not saying they should not have a good time but they must not lose focus on the reason why they are in the college, you most ensure that within these period of two, three or four years, as your courses might vary, you have done with your program and most adhere to the rules and regulations of this institution".

He also advised them to combine both academic and moral excellence and refrain from all acts which are contrary to rules and regulations of the college in order not to jeopardise the realisation of their  life ambitions.

Mr Jonathan noted that the new students were expected to act responsibly as healthcare professionals-in-training who would be dealing with human lives and the welfare of Nigerians, their number one priority in college is their academics; so they must take it seriously.
