Plateau Govt Reaffirms Support for Keke NAPEP Operators, Pledges Continuity

The Plateau State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting tricycle operators, popularly known as Keke NAPEP, describing them as vital drivers of the state's economy. The government pledged to continue creating a conducive environment for their operations across the state.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Jerry Satmark, Governor Caleb Mutfwang praised the resilience of operators and highlighted their significant contribution to the state's Internally Generated Revenue (IGR). Satmark urged the operators to remain united and vigilant in exposing bad elements that could tarnish the sector, stressing that discipline would attract further government support.

The Chairman of Jos North Local Government, Barrister J.K. Chris, commended the association for faithfully keeping its commitments and contributing to youth empowerment and grassroots development.

The event also featured the presentation of awards to deserving personalities, including former Governor Senator Jonah David Jang, who introduced tricycles to Plateau in 2012.

Speakers at the event called for support for Governor Mutfwang's second-term ambition in 2027, warning that allowing "those who do not mean well for Plateau" into power would jeopardize ongoing development projects. They maintained that sustaining the Mutfwang administration would guarantee uninterrupted progress for the tricycle sector and Plateau State at large.
