PPA2'S ABSURD DEFENCE OF DOPPA'S NEPOTISM PHASE 1

(By Shabul Mazadu)

It was funny that one Hosea Nash Vongdip, the electoral committee officer of Plateau Publishers Association 2, PPA2, went on Rhythm 93.7 FM on the programme Press Conference, and absolved the Director of Press and Public Affairs, DOPPA, Dr. Gyang Bere, of imposing his cousin and kinsman, Daniel Bok, as chairman of all publishers on the Plateau, saying he was to blame because he asked Bok to represent us. And that Bere knew nothing about it.

Nash's submission is nothing but preposterous damage control which will not hold water.
He said he told Bok to sit on the Chairmanship seat in his place, because PPA2 had dissolved its EXCO and had no chairman, but ELCOM which will conduct the elections. Hence, by virtue of the situation he was supposed to seat as the chairman of the newspaper publishers, but gave way to Bok to seat.
This is laughable, because the chairmanship seat was not supposed to be there in the first place since the publishers had factions with no common leadership which Bere was fully aware of.

The very person who included the leadership of the publishers in the protocol caused the problem, and not who commanded any to seat on the chair; because if the chair wasn't there nobody would have been told to sit on on it.

There is no how Bere will deny involvement in the arrangement of the media parley and the protocol because it fell within his jurisdiction, except he was not in charge of his office. Since he was involved why didn't he exclude the leadership of the publishers since he knew there was no common leadership, if not for his agenda?

Bere was there when the protocol officer announced the chairmanship of the publishers about thirty minutes before the governor arrived, why did he keep quiet knowing we had no common chairman if he had no agenda?

Nash had no right to even sit on the chairmanship seat as a representative of all the publishers because he was the ELCOM chairman of PPA2 and not of PPA1 and IPA. There was no agreement between the publishers that in case of such recognition he should represent us as our Chairman. Therefore his statement on radio has proven that he was a usurper and corrupt electoral umpire. How can the chairman of ELCOM where two or more people are contesting for the chairmanship position of his association delegate one to operate the position? Has he mot taken sides already? Would such a person dispense justice during elections?

Bere knew that recognising anyone as the chairman of publishers will generate problem, but deliberately initiated it.
He was aware of the problem it caused in 2024 during the ministerial briefings, except if he was dead to his appointment and its functions.

During the 2024 first day ministerial briefings when Musa Ashoms was the Commissioner of Information, Chief Nanyah Daman, was given a seat at the high table as chairman of Publishers, and complaints ensued, and the uneasiness was solved by excluding publishers on the high table the following day and all through the period, and no complaint was heard of.

During the 2025 ministerial briefings, publishers were excluded from the high table for the period of all the briefings which Gyang Bere was fully aware of. He knew also that heaven did not fall when no leadership of the publishers was recognized.

Bere was in the know too, that during the governor's media parley last year, no publishers' chairmanship was recognized and there were no complaints. Were these not enough lessons for him to learn and take a cue?

The question is, why was the chairmanship seat of publishers reserved this time around for the media parley knowing fully of the problem it caused during the 2024 ministerial briefings? Why was Bere's kinsman and cousin recognized when he was not even the chairman of their factions?
The act was deliberate by the DOPPA, and there is no how he can exonerate himself from the it.
