TEXT OF A JOINT PRESS BRIEFING BY PLATEAU PUBLISHERS ASSOCIATION (PPA) AND THE INDEPENDENT PUBLISHERS ASSOCIATION (IPA) AND DISCLAIMER (OVER IMPOSITION ) OF DANIEL BOK AS CHAIRMAN OF ALL PUBLISHERS ON THE PLATEAU.




Good Day Ladies and Gentlemen of the Press.

We the Executive and Members of the Plateau Publishers Association (PPA) and the Independent Publishers Association (IPA) deemed it fit to address you at this vexatious and crucial time over a sacrilegious and  disrespectful incident that occurred at the ill prepared and bias Media Parley in New Government House,Little Rayfield Twin Theatre Hall, on Tuesday,29th July, 2025 where one Daniel Bok was illegally and fraudulently presented as the Chairman of all Publishers on the Plateau before the Plateau State Governor, His Excellency, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, his Commissioners, Political Appointees, National and International Media as well as the greatest population of Journalists on the Plateau.We vehemently reject such illegal and fraudulent imposition of the kinsman of the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor as the Chairman of all publishers on the Plateau. 

We equally inform the Governor, Commissioners, the National and international Media to disregard such vexatious, illegal and fraudulent imposition of  one Daniel Bok, a cousin to Gyang Bere,by the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor of Plateau State. 

Gentlemen of the Press, we wish to inform you that the recognition given to one Daniel Bok,an unproductive Publisher,which was at instance of the Director of Press and Public Affairs, DOPPA, Gyang Bere, was an imposition and totally misleading because currently productive Newspaper,Magazine and Online Publishers on the Plateau are in factions as you are aware and the Director of Press and PublicAffairs to the Governor has no right whatsoever to dabble into the affairs of Publishers, where he is not a member.

It is on record that we have the PPA, the IPA,All Plateau Publishers, Plateau Print and  Online Publishers and there are those with no groups at all. Be informed that at no time had we harmonized and chose a Chairman and not one Daniel Bok. 

We were surprised at the conspiracy of the recognition given to one Daniel Bok, as there is no record anywhere in which Publishers on the Plateau held an election and chose him as their leader nor appointed him as an  Interim Chairman,therefore, we are issuing a disclaimer and urging the Governor, Commissioners, Government Appointees,the Fourth Estate of the Realm and members of the general public to disregard one Daniel Bok as the Chairman of all Plateau Publishers and not to have anything to do with him on behalf of the productive, genuine print and online publishers to avoid litigation. 

Members of the general public may wish to know that the unproductive renegade group he held sway as Chairman, has since dissolved him and his EXCO in preparation for a new elections, how then was one Daniel Bok announced and given recognition as  Chairman of all Plateau Publishers at the instance and discretion of the DOPPA at the parley with the Governor of Plateau State on Tuesday 29th July 2025 in Government House Jos?

We hereby inform the members of the general public that the act was not done in good faith but with an ulterior motive to  fleece Governmentof resources through retainership, therefore we are unequivocally distancing our associations from the appointment of Daniel Bok as Chairman of all Plateau Publishers but each group be treated separately.

 Be informed for the tenth time,that one Daniel Bok is not our leader,can never be our leader and has never led us in anyway. Anybody who transacts any business with him on behalf of the publishers, does so at their own peril. 

We call on the Governor and the Government of Plateau State not to discuss any business or have any dealings with Daniel Bok as Chairman on behalf of all Plateau State Publishers but treat each group on its merit.

With the involvement of the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor in this embarrassing,illegal and fraudulent behaviour, we are calling for  his removal and those of the former Commissioner of Information and present Commissioner of Youths & Sports, Mr Musa Ibrahim Ashoms,the Adviser Strategic Communication, Mr Timothy Golu and all those found culpable in the conspiracy for causing this humongous embarrassment to the Governor and the people of Plateau State before they set Journalists against the Governor.

North Central APC Forum Beseeches Prof. Dakum, Bar. Pwajok, Other LP Stakeholders To Return To APC
