LG Polls: PLASIEC Screens ADC Chairmanship Candidate For Jos North Hon. Isma'ila Aliyu

In line with its statutory responsibilities for the conduct of local government elections, the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) has successfully screened the chairmanship candidate for Jos North under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Hon. Isma'il Aliyu Abubakar.

The screening exercise took place at the PLACIEC Office in Jos, amidst Hundred of party faithful and supporters across various ward's of the locality accompanied the Flagbearer of ADC Hon. Isma'il Aliyu during the validation exercise on Monday 26th of August 2024.

Speaking to journalists on telephone call two days after the screening exercise, the Chairmanship Candidate for Jos North Local Government, Hon. Isma'il, commended the (PLASEIC) for carried out successful screening, he hope that the commission would allow the choice of the people reflect in the fourth coming local government elections results.

Hon. Isma'il observed what happened in the country during the last general elections, where people voted leaders best of some material things, he emphasized on the need for the voters to vote their leaders best of confident, adding that the local government election is the closest to the people at the grassroots level.

“I am going there as a representative for the 20 wards of Jos North Local Government, covering Youths, Men and Women and elderly too, i am going there to serve, to set a standard and ensure that after me, another youth can pick up the position".

On his part, the National Chief Whip of the party Ambassador Sabiu Ibrahim Musa assured victory of the party, said that "now that Hon. Aliyu Abubakar, is  full fledge candidate of the party to contest for the position of Chairmanship in Jos North, he is not in doubt that he will win the election in landslide". 

Stressed he is not intimidated by so call big parties who only exist in theory, but in practical, they are toothless bull dog. 

Urged his supporters not to be intimidated by them and go all out and campaign for ADC, because victory is already at their door steps. 

He revealed that the people of Jos North knows what is good for them, berated, abysmal failure of the past administration in the local government,by  extension the state as a whole, for the Eight years they held sway in power with little or no developments to show for it.

By: Labaran Ahmed The Chief Magistrate Court, Grade 1 Area Court sitting in Nasarawa Gwang, Jos.  The hearing of the case filed against Mrs. Dorothy Bassi, for alleged criminal misappropriation, criminal breach of trust, cheating, cheating by impersonation, defamation, mischief and criminal intimidation has been fixed for 11th December, 2023. The court fixed the date for witnesses to be called on the matter against the accused person after assuming jurisdiction to hear the case. Earlier, the Counsel to Mrs. Dorothy Bassi, had filed a Preliminary Objection (PO) challenging the jurisdiction of the court to hear the matter citing the non-signing of the Particulars to the complaint by the complainant. Gov. Mutfwang Extends Teachers Retirement Age

By: Labaran Ahmed "The Time is Now" mantra of his Excellency the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has graciously approved the extension of retirement age for teachers and School Administrators. The State Governor made this known through his Commissioner for secondary education, Hon. Muhammad S. Nyalun, on Thursday 5th Oct. during the celebration of world teacher's day, held at Rwang Pam Township Stadium, Jos. Com. S. Nyalun said, " His Excellency has graciously approved the extension of the retirement age for teachers and School administrators from the age of 60 to 65 years and 35 to 40 years respectively with effect from the 1st October 2023". According to him, "the rational behind the extension is for the experienced hands to go back to the classroom to teach and mentor the younger ones even after service in various administrative position".
