Alh. Sani Mavo Explain why Wase LGA Bailing on APC

Wase Local Government election result show People's Democratic Party (PDP) won the lion's share of the total votes against it's political rival the All Progress Congress, that looks like holding down (APC) margins of victory in Wase LGA and accelerating changes in suburbs, because (APC) votes have slid drastically in the just concluded 2024 LG election.


Retired Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Sani Alh. Yahaya Mavo explained the secret behind the high margins that helped (PDP) beaten up the (APC) in Wase Local Government Area.

Speaking in an interview with journalist at the Plateau State independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC), headquarters on the 10th of October 2024, followed the announcement of 15 out of 17 local government results by (PLASIEC).

Alh. Sani Yahaya Mavo said, (APC) held the helm of power for more than 8 years, but failed to deliver the dividend of democracy to the people of Wase Local Government Council.

According to him, the leadership of the All Progress Congress (APC) in Wase Local Government is one man show, people drilled out from (APC) because they haven't carried alone.

"Generally in government, they normally carry people best of it's policies, right now, the kind of policy the All Progress Congress (APC) have implemented at the national level, one can say, the policy is anti-masses, many people decamped, that is why you seen massive vote came out from Wase local government area".

"The only way the people of Wase federal constituency could free themselves from the slavery of bad policies meted on them by (APC) is through overwhelming votes against the Party in the election like how we just done".

Revealed that the leadership of APC in Wase LG, is one man show without recourse to other members of the party in the council, in fact other people are not carried along in the schemes of things as its regards to the party’s programs, the act, members of the party are not happy about.

"It is on this premise that I told my people from Wase local government that I have been in government for the past 35 years, out of these years, I have served different governors , civilian and military, I told them the ineffectiveness of the policies of APC in the state in general,and Wase as in particular.

“So if we most develop,you most go with the government of the day,the government in power.You don’t expect development when you are in Opposition party.”

So to get this seamlessly, you have to follow Governor Mutfwang led government that is obviously doing marvelous job in the state as far as development is concern,and ready to carry everybody along in his administration.

“That is why I tell my people come let join the bandwagon, that is why you see Sharp vote difference in the council election that give PDP edge over APC in Wase Local Government.

He debunked the insinuations that Wase have being the home of APC for the past Seventeen Years and plethoras of developments littered across the length and breaht of the LG.

Mavo said on the contrary, there is no development commensurate with the Eight(8), years the APC administration held sway in the council.

He gives an instance of the  road from Lantang through Wase and that  of Dengi to Wase which as we speak is nothing to write home about, and is practically unpassable.

Assured that there would be more APC members who are waiting to decamp to PDP  in few days from now.

Lauded the home coming of the people to PDP, because the people of Wase local government originally were PDP family, add that APC will witness more decampees if they did not address their anti masses policies currently  ravishing the unity of the party.

He called on the Newly elected chairman of the council to consolidate on his past achievement as Transition Implementation Chairman(TIC), he Said the performance of the New Chairman is not in doubt because he had be test and trusted before and can’t afford to fail the people of Wase Local Government.

If you recalled, Mavo confirmed that the membership card was duly signed and issued to him by the Mavo PDP ward chairman Hon. Abdullahi Kalin.

The former Permanent Secretary was accompanied to the brief presentation event by the former Chairman Peoples Democracy Party, PDP in Wase LGC Hon. Salihu Hamman, Wazirin Gar; PDP Chairmanship Aspirant for Mavo ward Alhaji Abdullahi S Shua'ibu; 2023 House of Representative candidate for Wase federal constituency, Barr Ibrahim Bawa Kanje, elders and party stakeholders among others.
