Plateau: More than 51,000 Feminists Attends Official Inauguration of NWNN in Jos South

The Nigeria's First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, has set a record for Women's revolution in Plateau, drew more then 51,000 feminists across the 17 LGAs of the State to the official inauguration of the State and Local Governments Exco's of the NGO tagged with slogan "No Woman, No Nation" (NWNN).
The event held on Thursday 24th of October 2024, at Dalo Da D.B Zang Multipurpose Hall, in Zang Commercial Secondary School Bukuru, Jos South. Plateau State.
Global News learn that, "No Woman, No Nation", (NWNN) is a rural and urban community based non-governmental organization that collaborate and partner with women who are ready to change their situations and move on with their lives.
The NGO is a Women empowerment initiative under the "Renewed Hope Initiatives" (RHI) for better Nigeria; committed to advancing gender equal opportunity, support widows, vulnerable, and also addressing gender-based violence and empower Women for a better feature.
"The organization aims to build the capacity of Nigerian Women economically, politically, and socially under the leadership of Amb. Akintola Julius, the National Present of the NGO, equally was to advance genda equal opportunity and to empower Women across Nigeria and Africa at large".
The National Present, NWNN Amb. Prince Akintola Julius, affirmed that since the rebirth of Nigerian democracy in 1999, Women have tried to gain access to decision making positions by contesting at the various political levels.
He regretted that depsite the immense contributions of women for the development of the country, they were often neglected due to some cultural stereotype, economic limitations, unfavorable traditional practices, religion barriers, lack of recognition for women in positions of authority, lack of clear policy for women’s political ambition as well as patriarchal societal structures.
According to him, the representation of Women in organizations in various policy debate has increased at Local and National levels, Women are becoming more engaged in varieties of institutional decision-making processes.
The NGO therefore, aim to build the capacity of Women in both rural and urban centers and Communities, encouraged Women to participante in public activities, decision making processes, political and socio-economic endeavours.
The State Chairperson, (NWNN) Dr. Ruth Nendi Obadiah, in her opening address said that today, in the history marks a significant milestone in the journey to stardom, in creating more inclusive, equitable and just society for the Women.
Dr. Ruth stated that Plateau will embark on a transformative journey that aimed to uplift the lives of Women across the 17 local government area's of the State, according to her, that the Plateau State chapter represents a critical step forward in the mission to amplify Women's voice, promotes gender equality, and foster meaningful social change to the Womanhood in all ramifications.
"NWNNvis is built on the pillars of education aim to empower Women through economic independence, leadership devolopement, skills enhancement, connecting government and professional institutions with humanitarian developer's for a better society across Nigeria".
She hinted that, their activities after now will focus on the Agriculture serene advantage with a distribution of produced liquid fertilizer for free across the 17 Local Government Council coordinating units, that the NGO will testify hands on training Women on how value chain attracts productivity of their made in Plateau products that will compete favorable in the international space with dynamic export packaging standards.
