Riyom Council Boss Hon. Sati Sworn-in Deputy, Secretary & Inaugurates Legislative Arm

The Executive Chairman, Riyam Local Government Council, Hon. Sati Bature Shuwa has sworn-in Deputy Chairman Hon. Gwong Gwya, alongside Council Secretary Hon. Abraham Tonjing and also inaugurated the Legislative Arm of the Council, which thereafter in a brief ceremony elect their Principal Officers where Mafeng Dahoss Mwanjal emerged as a Leader.



Speaking at the swearing in ceremony, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Sati Bature Shuwa charged them to be close and worthy of their people, according to him, the Council has taken a giant step towards strengthening democracy and promoting good governance at the Third Tier of Government.



"I think back to Riyom's rich past as a Local Government Area known for its resilience citizens and stunning natural beauty. We are dedicated to continuing and improving the legacies of our Local Government Area as a gateway to Plateau State".

He offer his heartfeld congratulations to his Deputy, Secretary others newly inaugurated legislative arm under the leadership of Hon. Mafeng Dahoss Mwanjal, on their swearing in.


The Chairman, further charged them all to work tirelessly, ensuring that the interests of the citizens are represented and their concern addressed in their day today conduct in various offices.

Also, called them to be diligent as their wealth of experience is needed to improve Riyom Local Government with the vision in the following critical areas: Peace and Security, Education, Agriculture, Infrastructural Devolopement, Economic Empowerment.

Hon. Bature expressed deepest gratitude and admiration to Governor Mutfwang for his exceptional, incredible and dynamic leadership style and for also conducting an election that have been adjudged by many as the most credible, peaceful and transparent, which has produced another set of Leaders at the grassroots. 


On his part, the Former Senate Minority Leader, Dist. Senator Simon Mwadkwon, appreciate the LGC Boss for the wonderful speech called on the people to listened after what the Chairman have said. 

Sent. Mwadkwon further preached the need for peaceful co-existance, saying that,  "Peace is credential development for growth, I know within us here, there's Muslins and Christians, there are people from various ethnic background, it is God Almighty that seen it necessary to put us together in Nigeria and also in Riyom LG, as Citizens of Riyom and Plateau State, we should not hate one another, we should learn to live in peace, we must learn to live together, because I know without peace, if there's a war none of us will be here".

He joined the Chairman to congratulate the Deputy Chairman, Secretary and also congratulated the legislators who come out with their leadership Today. Added that "The Council is complete, what left for them is to hit the ground, people want to see development in the grassroots, Peace, Improvement in Agriculture, Education, Road Maintainers".

Speaking with journalists at the oath taking event, the Leader of the Legislative Arm Hon. Dahoss Mafeng Mwanjal, said, he is ready to work closely with the Council Chairman to deliver on the mandate of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, and also promised to bring his professional experience to bear and support this administration to succeed in all its policies and programmes. 

Also speaking, the Councilor representing Kwi Ward, Hon. Davou said, "I'm so excited, because all the struggles during election and challenges came with victory, I'm very happy, I told my people I'm going to represent them, my slogan during electionary is "Sincerity" which I known to be sincere in whatever because I still have a feature, I will not terminate my future because of the counselorship position, I'm still hoping even the Chairman of this Local Government".


Hon. Wickliffe Tertullus, said, his next line of action is to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people, to make sure his people prepresenting well at the Local Government, and to also give good advice to the executive to bring devolpements to people in the grassroot.


Also speaking, the Clack of House, Hon. Majak said the event is very significant to the people of Riyom Local Government, the people have yet to see democratically elected Arm of Government that are independent by themselves, the Assembly has been inaugurated in Riyom Local Government Area, that will going to bring devolpements in the grassroot as you all aware, there's Autonomy for the Federal Government, by stepping it down to grassroots, it will going to be good to the people of Riyom Local Government.


The Attah Aten of Ganawuri, Yakubu Chaimang, a first class traditional rulers urged the legislators to eschew personal gains and prioritize the improvement of the lives of the people of Riyom Local Government Area.
