CONDOLENCE MESSAGE FROM RT. HON. GABRIEL DEWAN, SPEAKER, PLATEAU STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY
It is with a distressful and mournful heart on behalf of myself, Pankshin North Constituency and the entire members of Plateau State legislature, I send my heartfelt empathy and sympathy to the Usenis, Tarok Nation, Plateau and the entire country over the unfortunate death of a well admired and profusely respected elder statesman, father and stakeholder, Lt. Gen. Jeremiah Timbut Useni.
Useni was a true ambassador of Plateau both nationally and internationally as he projected the intrinsic values of: discipline, integration, hospitality, hard-work and ingenuity of the state in the discharge of all his assignments and personal activities both in the Military and democracy; leaving indelible legacies engraved on golden sands of time.
His sagacious and pragmatic approach to governance when he held sway as administrator of the defunct Bendel State, Senator of the Federal Republic, Minister of Transport and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, and his gigantic strides in the economy and democracy are worthy of commendation and emulation.
His death which is a big loss to not only his family, Taroh Nation, friends, business associates and well-wishers, but to Plateau and the entire country, came at a time his wisely counsels are muchly needed to move Plateau and the entire country forward.
I call on the entire nation particularly the Usenis and his kinsmen to take solace in God and be comforted in the legacies which the deceased left behind that serve as progressive and prosperous guide to us.
May the Almighty God comfort you and grant you the grace and serenity to bear the irreparable loss and may his soul rest in peace.
Please accept my deepest condolence.
Signed:
Rt. Hon. Gabriel Dewan
Speaker Plateau State House of Assembly
