Another Reps Member To Watch In The 10th Assembly, Hon. Amb. Daniel Asama, Adds Two New Establishment Bills In Twelve Bills Sponsors By Him In One Year Thirteen Days

Hon. Amb. Daniel Asama Ago, (The Anki Kaboh), Member Representing Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency and the Deputy House Committee Chairman on Tourism, has able to add two new establishment bills in twelve bills that he sponsored in the floor of the green chamber, in his One Year 13days in the 10th Assembly.

With addition of two new establishment bills sponsored by Hon. Amb. Daniel Asama, in the floor of the green chamber of the National Assembly today, 18th of February, 2025, make a total number of Fourteen bills sponsored in One Year 13days, he held sway in Office as reps member representing the good people of Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.

Earlier, Hon. Amb. Asama has sponsored 12 bills which are currently at various legislative stages, and 4 motions of urgent public importance that has to do with Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency, and supported others motions in his first legislative year at the National Assembly.

In a press statement signed by Brian Lang, Director of Media for Hon. Amb. Daniel Asama said that the two establishment bills are the Chartered Institute for Tourism and Hospitality of Nigeria (Establishment) Bill, 2025 (HB.2009) – First Reading and the Council for the Regulation of Travel and Tour Management Companies of Nigeria (Establishment) Bill, 2025 (HB.2008) – First Reading.

Hon. Amb. Asama further asserted that these bills, which have successfully passed their first reading at the National Assembly, aim to establish a comprehensive legal framework to regulate the diverse and expanding activities of the tourism and hospitality sector. This initiative seeks to address long-standing regulatory gaps by introducing standards and best practices to empower stakeholders and enhance professional competence.

He also maintained that when fully passed and assented to by the National Assembly and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, these bills will transform the tourism sector, fostering sustainable development and ensuring the industry contributes significantly to Nigeria’s economic diversification and growth.

Hon. Asama’s legislative prowess aligns with his broader vision of revitalizing Plateau State—famously known as the “Home of Peace and Tourism.” His efforts aim to reposition the state as a major tourism hub, boosting local businesses, creating employment opportunities, and enhancing cultural exchange.
