During his Friday sermon at the Y-junction Mosque, Anguwa Miango, Bukuru, Jos South LG of Plateau State, Chief Imam Ustaz Malan Ali expressed disappointment over the recent price hike of food items in Bukuru, despite national reports of decreasing prices.
In his sermon, Ustaz Malan Ali began by expressing profound gratitude to Allah SWT for granting believers opportunity to observe another sacred month of Ramadan.
Our correspondent from Anguwan Miango reports during the Friday sermon, Chief Imam Ustaz Malan Ali admonished the congregation to maximize the benefits of Ramadan, seeking spiritual growth, self-refinement, and divine blessings.
He prayed to Allah SWT to bless the congregation throughout the sacred month, guiding them to fast with sincerity and devotion. "May He grant us good health and strength to complete the fasting period, protection from harm and evil, and guidance on the path to paradise," he prayed. "May our fasting bring us closer to Allah SWT, and may we emerge from this month with renewed faith, compassion, and spiritual growth."
The Imam emphasized that the true essence of religion is about transforming one's heart, making it clean, filled with wisdom and understanding, and strong. "As Allah reminds us, those who embody these qualities are truly blessed," he said. "May we strive to cultivate these virtues, and may Allah grant us His guidance and blessings."
Ustaz Malan Ali also spoke about the blessings of Ramadan, noting that Allah SWT has ordained fasting for the benefit of believers. "During this sacred month, every good deed is rewarded doubly," he explained. "Ramadan is the Month of Forgiveness, a time for reflection, repentance, and renewal. May we seize this opportunity to purify our hearts, seek Allah's mercy, and emerge from Ramadan as better versions of ourselves."
Furthermore, the Imam highlighted the importance of Ramadan's spirit of giving. "This sacred month reminds us to extend kindness and generosity to our neighbors and those in need," he said. "It's a time for charity, compassion, and coming together to make life easier for all."
However, Ustaz Malan Ali expressed disappointment that some traders in Bukuru are not embracing this spirit. "Despite national reports of decreasing food prices, our local marketers are increasing prices, contradicting the values of Ramadan," he lamented.
