PLATEAU MAN OF THE YEAR AWARDS ORGANIZERS DEBUNK ALLEGATIONS BY FORMER VOLUNTEER

Jos, Plateau State - The organizers of the Plateau Man of the Year Awards (PMYA) have responded to allegations made by a former volunteer, Miss Ogwuche Susan, denying her claims and describing them as "misleading and unfounded."

In a statement signed by the Organizing Committee, the PMYA acknowledged Miss Susan's contributions as a volunteer during the 2024 edition of the awards but took exception to her "malicious and unfounded allegations" against the convener, Ambassador Cletus Akhimien.

The statement described Ambassador Akhimien as a man of impeccable character who has dedicated his life to promoting excellence and progress in Plateau State. The PMYA also maintained that it has a strong reputation for credibility, transparency, and impact, and will not be distracted by unfounded allegations.

The organizers also clarified that Miss Susan's role as a volunteer was not as exaggerated as she claimed, and that she was duly acknowledged and compensated for her efforts. They also expressed disappointment that she chose to make allegations after refusing to attend the team's close-out review meeting.

The PMYA urged the public to disregard Miss Susan's claims and reaffirmed their gratitude to all past and present volunteers, partners, and awardees who have contributed to the success of the initiative.
