Plateau State University Upgrades Data Management System

Plateau State University has taken a significant step in enhancing the protection and updating of its data record system for accuracy and safety. 

In a meeting organised by the Directorate of Academic Planning of the University brought key stakeholders who are saddled with the responsibility of record keeping, discussed extensively issues militating accurate data keeping. 

At the meeting were the representatives from Units, departments and Directorates who made submissions. 

They include: Establishment Unit of the Registry Department, Directorate of Research Development, Advancement Partnership and Linkages, Directorate of Information Communication Technology (ICT) and Directorate of Academic Planning who served as host.

In an opening remark,  Director Academic Planning Professor Wufem Buba explain that the University has a duty of keeping,  updating and protecting valid documents for the public consumption.  "Information such as number of staff and their classification, number of students,  number of graduated students,  number of beneficiaries of scholarships among others."

According to the Director: there are shortcomings in providing a unified information hence the need to find a solution. 

At the end, the meeting came with a communique that was read by the Chairman of the meeting,  Professor Wufem Buba.

They communique appealed to stakeholders to create an enabling environment for proper documentation of sensitive university's informations.
