Youth Assembly of Nigeria Holds Inaugural Sitting, Charts Course for Positive Change

The Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN) Plateau State Chapter, is a platform for youth empowerment and development, officially convened its inaugural sitting on March 17, 2025. The historic event, held at the Jos South Local Government Legislative Chamber in Plateau State, brought together Youth Coordinators from 17 Local Governments to deliberate on pressing issues, share innovative ideas, and forge collaborative partnerships.
The assembly's theme, "Paradigm Shift in Youthful Activism," underscored its commitment to empowering youths as catalysts for transformative change. Key agenda items included the presentation of a motion on a bill by the Majority Leader, aimed at empowering 100 youths in agriculture, and a bill promoting peaceful coexistence in Plateau State, presented by the Minority Leader.
Rt. Hon. Amb. Daniel Innocent Dazan, Speaker of the 4th Republic, delivered a keynote address at the assembly's inaugural press conference. He emphasized the organization's dedication to transparency, accountability, and open communication. The assembly expressed its confidence in the leadership of Governor Caleb M. Mutfwang, acknowledging his administration's notable achievements in infrastructural development, economic empowerment, and social welfare initiatives.
The Youth Assembly of Nigeria honored several outstanding youths for their exemplary leadership, including Rt. Hon. Chief Amb. Gabriel K. Dewan, Hon. Mus. Musa Ashoms, and Pharm. Kim Bot, among others.
The Youth Assembly's inaugural sitting marked a significant milestone in its journey to empower youths and drive positive change.
